YouTube is something that I use almost everyday I watch game play, comedy videos and technology reviews and updates. This is basically all the stuff I love so my favorite website is defiantly YouTube here's my favorite YouTubers and/or YouTube channel. These channels are in no particular order just the order of when they come to my mind. My first pick my this list is Lamarr Wilson, "he's the funnny tech guy who gets the job done" - his theme song. And this is very true. He makes me laugh my head off on every single one of his videos. AND he loves tech and does game plays here and there so this, if I was a YouTuber I would aspire to be like. He is at CES 2014 as I right this post so he's cranking out a lot of videos so I've been watching them a lot. He also comments on popular culture and wors for mashable which is a popular website and video producer. He is one of the best but, doesn't have many subscribers so, SUBSCRIBE!!!!! YOU FOO'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Austin Evans is me except a bit older. He loves tech-like me, he loves video games-like me and he builds PCs for fun-I would do that but I can't build more than one within about six months so I can't. He's really funny and has an awesome setup which I would kill to get. He got his start on YouTube in 2009 when he would take screenshots of iPod apps and told people if they were good or not so, a review. After that his channel slowly grew and he got YouTuber freinds, more subscribers and better PC and here we are. in conclusion, Austin Evans is awesome. Smosh is the third most subscribed on YouTube and just watch one of their videos and you'll see why. These guy make over fifteen million people laugh their pants off every Friday. They always have great ideas and always pull them off perfectly. They have several other channels such and El Smosh, Shut Up! Cartoons and Smosh 2nd Channel just to name a few. Their second biggest channel other than the main one is listed below. They also have a website called smosh.com and they just post random funny pictures, political comedies and just random funny things on. They have a huge empire that makes them a lot of money and keeps them away from "real jobs" which they like. Smosh Games is an awesome channel that is the gaming channel to Smosh. In Smosh Games there are the three main guys named Sohinki, Lasercorn and Jovenshire AKA Matt Sohinki, David Moss and Joshua Ovenshire. They are very funny and are also accompanied by - Mari, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox on occasion who are the main people from Smosh. All of them are very, very funny and have game plays and game discussions twice a day five days a week and once a day on the weekends. They are awesome and I definatly recommend checking them out if you haven't already. My next pick is Node which is a collab with lots of YouTube channel mostly, Corridor Digital, freddiew and BrandonJLA. And then other people who only work for Node which would still be awesome. They have LAN parties mostly now but they had other content before but LAN party was always everyone's favorite. This channel is awesome.
Hey Guys! I haven't done blog in a while because of private issues but if finally taken it upon myself to make one anyway let's get to it...
Today's article I am going to be blogging on is a article on Cnet exclaiming how this new Western Digital SSD is a lifesaver for PC builders. I agree after reading this article. For those of you who don't know what a SSD is, it's a new-er kind of storage compartment in your computer that is much faster than the traditional mechanical hard drive. The difference that makes it faster is that the Mechanical HDD uses tiny disks in the box that have to have an arm to read it which takes longer and over periods of time heats the computer drastically. A SSD doesn't use this it has a board that everything is read and downloaded to. Anyway, back to the product with is is a 1.2 TB SSD (Approx. 1200 GB). This is great deal because SSD are much faster than the traditional hard drive as I said and it's only $250, this is outrageously cheap. I don't know for sure this is reliable but it is better than a traditional hard drive. Bye and I'll see you next time... We all notice the made in china on almost all our house hold goods and tech devices, according to these two articles one on ZDNet and one on cnet. In Foxcom China's iPhone and iPad factory workers claim they have unfair working conditions and have a rash of suicides sweeping through the factory. I really don't think it could be that bad assembling iPhones and iPads all day and if it is so hot and they don't like they should quit not kill themselves.
I didn't read anything that said they were being held against their will. I've never really been a supporter of complainy workers. I think if they don't like it they should quit and if they don't their boss should. On the other hand many people may feel that if they really want to work there and they aren't being paid very much then they could have little feedback to their boss to let them know their concerns and let the boss handle it.Honestly, I don't think Apple should fix this problem at all because they should putting their efforts to better things such as developing new products. I know I might sound like a monster for saying all that but it is my honest opinion. China is a third world country and Apple is helping out by providing work for these under privileged world citizens. Another thing that has come up on these blogs is the fact that Apple has 64 billion dollars over seas and Microsoft has 45 billion. The reason these companies do this is to save tax dollars. I think honestly I would do the same thing. The tax for buying things is 12% I don't know what percentage the tax is for whatever they're doing but if it was 12% Apple would get much less than 64 billion dollars. Same with Microsoft. I think that taxes this high are ridiculous and the government has plenty of money as it is and half of it goes to the President or Prime Minister's personal affairs. I'm done for now and bye I will see you next time... These six tablets are the best right now. Well, at least according to cnet. It goes (from best to worst) iPad mini with retina display, iPad Air, Google Nexus 7 (2013 Edition), Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, Amazon Kindle Fire 7, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2013 Edition) Barnes and Noble Nook HD+. I agree with this list in terms of specs I have read online, but, the Nook in terms of external hardware gets a -10/10 in my opinion. It is thick, looks heavy and looks ugly. It does however look like it could take some abuse without a case which, if you are very clumsy, is very useful.
I am going to pick up the iPad mini with retina display soon and I do believe this list is correct in placing this little beast I first. The iPad mini with retina display is generally and iPad Air in terms of hardware externally and internally. They are both packing a A7 chip which is the fastest Apple mobile processor to date packing the Geek Bench 3 scores at around 1500 on single core and 2500 on multi core. The iPad mini with retina display has a slightly less amount of GHz than the iPad Air which is understandable considering it's smaller screen. The only down side to the iPad mini with retina display over the iPad Air is the fact they have the exact same pixel density, this may sound like a good thing at first but since the iPad mini with retina display has a smaller screen it washes out the colour magnitude which the iPad Air presents. All in all the iPad mini with retina display is a much better product than the Air considering it's cost and perfect screen size. The only ones left are the Samsung and Kindle tablets. Unfortunately I don't follow either of these tablets because I am more of an Apple man when it comes to tablets. So you guys can have a battle in the comments [even though no one reads this]. Thanks for reading and I will see you next time. Sorry, I haven't done a blog in a while now guys I guess I've been busy but, here's my new post:
Internet piracy is it really as bad as actual piracy? let's find out. This article I was directed to by my computers teacher tells us the definitions of the terms that are used frequently when dealing with illegally downloaded goods. Now, I'm not going to admit to anything on the internet because I don't want to go to jail. A lot of peoples excuse when they pirate is that the artist, developer or producer already makes millions of dollars already what's the difference? It is true that these men and woman do usually make quite a lot of money it wouldn't be fair because they could be getting a lot more if people wouldn't pirate their stuff. Most people I know who pirate occasionally pirate video games and not much else. People pirate games for in my opinion, good reasons. A majority people who play games are young people who don't have much money and almost all the video games are sixty dollars on release date which for many people is way too expensive for a game so they pirate for that reason. When I have the money I like buying the game rather than pirating it because you get the game case, you get it in your Steam library or you get access to multiplier and all those things make me very happy. In most people's opinion this is the same thing as stealing and I do agree it is, I believe that it's a much smaller offense. Before you think I'm a terrible think about it. I think it's a lot worse stealing the game from the store than it is stealing online. Because they have to make the disk, print the box art and manufacture the case. And with the digital game they have the files, wait... that's it. See? I think that internet piracy is neither good nor bad. (I'm going to stop doing that gotta bounce thing it was pretty stupid). Last Wednesday I had take your kid to work day due to the fact I'm in Grade 9. My father... let's just call him Willy Johnson was a former employee at Telus in Vancouver (a all things Tech company). I went with his friend... let's just call her Rita McJoe while he stayed at the empty desk they had their and worked for his current employer. The first thing we did was go into a call and unfortunately I can't reveille any thing that was said because it is confidential. Then we went to the Telus video conferencing area (which is supposed to simulate the person your having a meeting with across the table from you, but it didn't really work due to a few reasons that aren't really that important). Next, we had a teleconference with Jason Ween (not real name again) who is a forensics officer for Telus. After that we went to The Keg Steakhouse and Bar and had a wonderful meal with Chris Bunner, Willy Johnson, Jason Cluncan, Rita McJoe and myself. I had filet min - [something I can't spell properly]. Then we went to the Telus innovation center which is a room in which they test new products and demonstrate them for potential consumers (and students doing Take-Your-Kid-To-Work Day). There where many crazy products in there but the best one by far was the BEAM robot which allowed people to be somewhere without being there. I'll just let the video below demonstrate: Yeah... I got to drive that thing.
In conclusion my impression of Telus is very different than I expected, in a good way. I walked into that building expecting a company who was focused on a phone service and crappy internet but what I got was much different company altogether. Telus is a company for everything technology focused and I enjoyed my stay there thanks Rita! Bye, Gotta Bounce... This article shows the progress of a University team that tested wether or not video games affect your brain like the myth for children. This study shows that in fact, video games improve certain parts of your brain. It adds grey matter.
The research team had twenty-three adults play Super Mario 64 on XXL for thirty minutes each day for two months. They also had twenty-three adults not play video games over the same period of time. After this the research team found a significant amount of increased grey matter in the right hippocampus, right prefrontal cortex and cerebellum. Researchers of this project believe certain video games will help people with disorders or people recovering from an illness or accident. They also say people who play video games have a less likely chance to develop depression. If this is true, I am all for this development in using video games for medical uses. I have played video games pretty much my entire life and I rarely get depressed and video games help me and many other people escape and relax and not be stressed and I think all the things in the article is true and I pretty much knew most of this my whole life through my own personal theorys. I really enjoyed this article and the advancements they are trying to acheive I am all for. Bye, Gotta Bounce... This article from tech vibes was forwarded to me by my father who received it from his friend who I am doing my "take your kid to work day" field trip with. I have demonstrated great interest in coding for most of my life and even greater in the knowledge of making my own video games.
This article gives people an idea of the great needs of coders today. The author of this article stated that he lost a twenty-six year old who was working for his company after the twenty-six year old was offered a $175, 000 yearly salary and $600, 000 worth of shares if he stayed for four years. He also told of an investment opportunity that many young people will consider called "upstart". Upstart is an investment in which an individual or a company pays for one's education and in return they receive a percentage that is under 7% of the person's salary over a certain period of time. I will defiantly look into this when I go to University. This article really showed me what I can be doing in the future (which is hopefully doing something in the technology business) if I do want to code and I am defiantly am interested. I think it is just plain useful to be able to code because you could easily fix your computer by yourself, make a game in your spare time and more. I do agree that if you know you to code you will have people knocking on your door asking you to work for them because not many people look into it as a career.
